COPE PROGRAMS

Parent Support Group

Losing a child is devastating. Having the peer support from other parents who can understand is life saving. COPE parent support groups offer parents a safe place to share their grief and find the tools to live with their unimaginable loss. Read More.

Sibling Support Group

There is no greater support than someone who can also relate and understand the depths of your grief. Support groups offer siblings the companionship and true understanding from others who have also lost a sibling and are experiencing the similar challenges that living with this loss brings. GREETINGS FROM CAMP ERIN NYC!

Children often grieve in different ways. At camp we offer many different outlets for them to express their feelings – through conversation, art, music, or activity. This year we are making drums so they can have their own instrument to play at drumming. In addition, they will be able to take them home and use them as a tool in their grief journey and remind them of their experience at Camp Erin NYC. Mark your calendars for Camp Erin NYC next year:   August 25 – 27, 2017.

We depend on the kindness and generosity of our communities, families, friends, and corporations to help provide the funds and supplies necessary for camp. We are collecting rolls of colorful and decorative duck tape to be used at camp this year for their drums. If you would like to donate any new or leftover rolls of tape from your kids craft boxes, we would be most appreciative! Please contact Ann: 914-552-6919 or email afuchs@copefoundation.org to set up a drop off.

In Loving Memory

Dedicated to our children who have passed, COPE helps us to Connect Our Paths Eternally, sustaining the bonds of love and energy that connect us.

Founders Statement

The COPE Foundation was inspired by a dream.

In 1992, my 20 year-old daughter, Michelle, lost her life tragically in a car accident. In the midst of my grief, she came to me in a dream and said,
” I’m okay, Mommy. You’re the ones who aren’t okay and you need to reach out and help each other.”

I woke with a vision of grieving parents and siblings coming together for emotional support.
